Manchester United defender Harry Maguire will be put up for sale in the summer and West Ham United along with Spurs are interested in signing him, according to a report from Football Transfers

Maguire is currently the club captain but this season under Erik ten Hag, the central defender has been more of a benchwarmer. In the 21/22 season, he started in 28 Premier League games but this time around, he’s started in only seven, playing for a total of 672 minutes.

His time at Old Trafford has been dotted with mistakes and contact poor performances which is why his manager will no longer hold onto him.

West Ham United tried to sign him back in January and as per the rumours, they will revive their interest at the end of the season. Tottenham are also planning a rehaul and they too are said to be keen on signing the 30-year-old.

Which club will Harry Maguire end up joining?

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have formed a stellar central defensive pairing so Harry Maguire has no future at the club. He will be itching to get his career back on track and if a good offer comes in then Manchester United won’t stand in his way.

Experts believe a fee of around £40 million will be enough to trigger a sale and both West Ham and Spurs are capable of paying this amount. However, if Spurs are seriously interested then Maguire will choose a move to North London rather than join David Moyes’ side.

West Ham have done brilliantly in Europe this season but a repeat of the same is highly unlikely. Spurs, on the other hand, will be bringing in a new manager and if Levy can get the right man then they will automatically challenge for the top four next campaign.

A player like him will want to win silverware and play in Europe each and every season and at Tottenham, he has a much better chance of achieving that.

Manchester United are already targeting a new central defender which means if Harry Maguire stays at the club then he will fall further down the pecking order.

At the moment, Spurs will be a much better choice than West Ham United but we are confident that once the transfer window opens up, several other English clubs will come calling.
