Man United beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the Premier League on Sunday but defender Harry Maguire seems to have picked up an injury during the match.

Harry Maguire has been a stellar figure in central defence for Manchester United this season and with two very crucial games coming up, the England international seems to have picked up a possible calf injury.

The win for United means Man City will have to wait for one more week before they can be crowned the champions but all eyes are now on the Man United vs Leicester City game on Tuesday to see if Maguire is fit or not.

The defender had to be taken off in the second half after a collision with Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi and speaking after the match, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to rule out the worst.

Solskjaer said, as per Sky Sports: “Hopefully it will be OK with Harry. I don’t know. We need to check it. It might be a few weeks or a month, we don’t know.

“It was his calf or lower leg. I think the player landed on him and he twisted something.

“His fitness is very good – he’s robust. But, today, it looked like the boy landed on him and he twisted his ankle. I don’t know how serious it is. He might be available on Tuesday, he might not.”

This is a massive headache for the Man United boss since in two days time, his side will take on Leicester City and then after just one day’s rest, they welcome Liverpool at Old Trafford.

By the time they reach the Liverpool game, Manchester United might have already managed to secure a top-four spot but with a Europa League final coming up as well, Maguire’s injury could pose a lot of problems.

Eric Bailly is there to cover up for Harry Maguire but the England international has been an ever-present figure for Ole’s side this season and without him, Man United could have a lot of problems in dealing with players like Firmino, Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy.

If all goes well then still a chance Maguire is fit for the Liverpool game but there’s no way he will be ready to start against Leicester City on Tuesday night.
