Harry Kane has been tipped to move out of Spurs this summer and the two Manchester clubs have been dubbed as the favourites to sign the England international.

Kane is eager to win trophies and play at the highest level and in a recent interview with Gary Neville, the forward has hinted that his long-term future might not lie with Tottenham Hotspur.

Man United and Manchester City have been keeping a close eye on proceedings and but according to Mark Hughes, Harry Kane will be a perfect fit at a club like Manchester United.

“I think Kane could take United back to a title-winning level,” Hughes told Sky Sports News.

“From watching United this season, the one thing that’s always struck me is that when they don’t have that focal point to the attack, when Cavani isn’t playing and the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial or Mason Greenwood are playing up top, it doesn’t quite function as well as it should.

“I think United are always better when Cavani is actually down the middle. He’s done great for United this year and I think it is great news for them that they’ve been able to keep him for another year.

“Whether that means they aren’t going to pursue Kane really forcefully because they feel in the short-term that they’ve got a solution.

“I think from my point of view, with my red goggles on, I would love Harry Kane to be there because I think he’d be made to measure for Manchester United.

“He’d have a lot of good talent around him, and they’d give him that platform hopefully to win trophies because clearly Harry Kane is at the point of his career where that’s what’s missing from his career.

“He wants to make sure that the next step, if he does make a step, is going to guarantee trophies. It’s not about money, it’s not about prestige – it’s about making your mark in the game.”

Man United obviously will do all they can to sign Harry Kane but if he chooses to join Man City he will more or less get guaranteed shots at winning trophies next season. And maybe this is why some think it’s Manchester City who are likely to get their hands on the Spurs frontman.

According to journalist Ian Cheeseman, Harry Kane could be on his way to Spurs in the summer.

Cheeseman tweeted: ‘I hear from a reliable source that Harry Kane to Man City is a real possibility for a fee of over £100 million – time will tell.’

It’s still early days and we are sure that Kane will decide his next course of action once the Euros are over but there’s no denying that Manchester City have a massive upper hand in signing him ahead of Solskjaer’s side.
