Jack Grealish to Man City
Jack Grealish playing for Aston Villa

Aston Villa held West Ham United to a 1-1 draw thanks to a goal from Jack Grealish and courtesy of Arsenal’s win vs Watford, Villa will remain in the Premier League next season.

And right after Jack Grealish helped his boyhood club remain in the top division, Dean Smith was busy answering questions about the future of the Manchester United transfer target.

The Villa boss made it clear that a decision is to be made regarding the future of Birmingham-born lad and the club expect to sort things out pretty soon.

‘I said to him he would come to the party and score,’ Smith told BBC Sport after the match via Metro. ‘He has been getting better and better. He has come good when he needed to.

‘It (his future) will all be sorted over the next month. Tonight we will enjoy a magnificent achievement. It feels better than when we went up through the play-offs.

‘I didn’t think we were great, but we defended resolutely. Defences were on top. A magnificent achievement from everyone.

‘We had to concentrate on this game. We were up throughout the whole game. Jack [Grealish] was due one and he scored a magnificent goal.

‘I was brought up a Villa fan. It is a proud moment and feels better than going up last season. It was a big change we had to make at the football club. We had to build a new team, a new squad. We used the pandemic to the best. I lost my father through that period and there was a lot of disappointment, but we knew we had to work hard.

‘I have lost my voice. I expect Jack Grealish to get drunk with me tonight… that’s all I can say. I will speak to the owners tomorrow.’

Will Jack Grealish move to Man United?

Manchester United have been heavily linked with the playmaker during the course of this season but ever since the arrival of Fernandes, these rumours have died down considerably.

Bruno Fernandes has been sensational since his arrival and it’s fair to say that if Jack Grealish did join Man United, he will struggle to get regular starts next season.

So it’s pretty evident that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not want to waste money on the 24-year-old in the summer. But having said that, a player like Grealish will have no shortage of takers.
