Full-back Marcos Alonso has had a fall out with his Chelsea manager and as per Chelsea insider Nathan Gissing, his time at Stamford Bridge might be over.

The wing-back had a heated argument with Thomas Tuchel during the Wolves game, following which he was subbed off at half-time. Gissing, who is a staff writer for Gianluca Di Marzio is now claiming that Marcos Alonso is not likely to play any further part this season.

He wrote on Twitter: “The feeling inside the dressing room is this could be Alonso’s final game in a CFC shirt this season or maybe ever, with the Spaniard’s priority is to return to Spain this summer.

“Barça working on it & is seen as a possibility. Contacts between the agents & the club.”

Will Marcos Alonso no longer feature for Chelsea?

It’s almost certain that the Spaniard will leave at the end of this season but with Ben Chilwell out, Tuchel cannot afford to put his ego at the forefront.

If the pair have seriously fallen out then Marcos Alonso will be a benchwarmer for the remaining few matches and this is just a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Next up, Chelsea take on Leeds United and then they have the FA Cup final against Liverpool and if Marcos Alonso is not playing in these matches then the Blues will find it really hard to win.

Who will replace Marcos Alonso on the left-hand side?

If Alonso is frozen out then Tuchel will have no left-backs remaining in side and this means a midfielder will have to slot into the left wing-back’s role. It was Saul who played in that position against Wolves and if Tuchel is not ready for a compromise then Chelsea will stick to this same structure for the remainder of the campaign.

Against Leeds United, this arrangement should not be a problem but in the FA Cup final, players like Salah and TAA will just tear Chelsea to shreds down on that left-hand side.

Honestly, the Spaniard will have no issues in being frozen out because he’s leaving anyway in the summer so it’s up to the manager to prevent this situation from turning into a mess for the club.

Chelsea are at the risk of losing their fourth spot on the table as well so this isn’t a time for Thomas Tuchel to massage his ego. The German should be sensible enough to understand the gravitas of the situation and hence keep using Marcos Alonso.
