4-3-3 Liverpool’s predicted line-up vs Chelsea: Diogo Jota to replace Firmino upfront?

Liverpool got back to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend beating Sheffield United 2-0 but things could once again get rough for the Reds as they take on Chelsea at Anfield on Thursday.

Before the Blades game, Liverpool were in terrible form and going into this key encounter, Klopp’s men are sixth on the league table and have suffered four losses in their previous four league games.

Only one point separates both these sides so if Liverpool fail to pick up a win then they surely fall behind in the race to finish in the top-four of the table.

As usual, Jurgen Klopp has a series of injuries to deal with but the manager should get back a few first-team players before Chelsea come to town meaning the German will finally have the option to rotate his starting line-up when they face Chelsea.

Liverpool team news vs Chelsea:

Alisson Becker missed the Sheffield game on compassionate grounds but the Brazilian will be back in action against Chelsea.

Fabinho is also likely to be fully fit and available for selection and this is a huge boost for the Liverpool boss. If the Brazilian is ready then he will move straight back into central defence alongside Ozan Kabak.

Jordan Henderson remains sidelined with an abductor injury but Curtis Jones has played really well in central midfield and he even found the back of the net against the Blades. The youngster will start alongside Thiago and Wijnaldum.

Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are automatic choices for Liverpool on Thursday but Roberto Firmino’s place in the side could be under threat.

Diogo Jota has fully recovered from injury but he could not play vs Sheffield as he had fallen ill. If Jota is back to full health then there’s a chance that he will play as the centre-forward at Anfield on Thursday.

The manager said earlier this week, as per Liverpoolfc.com: “With Diogo, he was with us in the hotel, but he got sick overnight and we had to send him home. It depends how quick he will recover, obviously.

“He was in the squad and as I said before, he trained with the team and it all looked really good but unfortunately he got sick overnight. I think he will be available, but I don’t know.”

Liverpool’s predicted line-up vs Chelsea:

Predicted Line-up: Alisson; Fabinho, Ozan Kabak, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold; Thiago, Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones; Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Firmino/Diogo Jota.
