Man United were supposed to face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday but that game got postponed due to fan protests so now the Old Trafford side have gotten a full week off before they head back into Europe.

Manchester United take on AS Roma in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final this week and the English side go into this game with a four-goal lead from the first leg at home.

Man United won their home leg 6-2 meaning they have effectively killed off the tie and have one foot in the finale of the tournament. The only thing left for them to do at the Stadio Olimpico is to avoid a massive turnaround by being too complacent.

The Red Devils have a pretty intense game vs Aston Villa next weekend in the league and then next midweek they face Leicester City. So, it will not be a big surprise if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opts to play a second-fiddle side vs Roma on Thursday.

Man United team news vs AS Roma:

David De Gea will return in goal as he is officially now the club keeper at Man United and Eric Bailly is also expected to come back into the side, replacing Lindelof in central defence.

Luke Shaw will get a much-deserved rest this week since Solskjaer has Alex Telles to fall back to as his left-back option. The manager does not have too many options in the right-back role so Aaron Wan-Bissaka will keep his place.

Nemanja Matic should be getting a start in midfield alongside Scott McTominay meaning Fred will be on the bench for this one.

Bruno Fernandes has been playing week-in-week-out and the second leg in the perfect opportunity for the Man United boss to rest him and use Donny van de Beek in the No 10 role on Thursday.

Paul Pogba should be playing as the left winger once again as we are expecting the manager to rest Marcus Rashford as well.

Mason Greenwood could lead the line with Edinson Cavani on the bench while Amad Diallo will also be in contention to get a start down the right flank.

Players like Juan Mata and Dan James will also be available for selection and we feel the Man United boss will opt for a mixture of youth and experience for this one since the last thing he will want is to allow Roma the window for a turnaround.

Man United’s predicted line-up vs AS Roma:

Predicted Starting Line-up: David De Gea; Lindelof/Bailly, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Telles; Matic/Fred, McTominay, Donny van de Beek; Pogba, Greenwood, Amad Diallo.
