Man United failed to win against Leicester City at home on Tuesday, losing the Premier League game 1-2. But, individually, this result does very little to affect their domestic fate this season.

United will have no time to rest though as they take on Liverpool on Thursday night, less than 48 hours after they faced the Foxes. Liverpool have a lot riding on this game but Manchester United are surely not going to make things any easy for Jurgen Klopp’s side since Solskjaer is expected to name a full-strength side.

Ole made 10 changes to his line-up on Tuesday with players like Bruno Fernandes, Pogba and Cavani all starting on the bench. But on Thursday, all these players are going to come back into the side as Man United look to finish as close to City as possible.

Man United are undefeated in 9 of their last 10 home matches against Liverpool in all competitions but they have not been particularly great at home this season and given the number of games that Ole’s side have played in the past week, we really do not expect them to come out all guns blazing.

Man United team news vs Liverpool:

David De Gea will move back to the bench as Dean Henderson comes back into the side while Alex Telles will also make way for Luke Shaw at left-back.

Brandon Williams played as the right-back against Leicester City but he will make way for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Harry Maguire has been ruled with an ankle injury and this is a big blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, not just for the Liverpool game but also for the Europa League final.

With Harry Maguire out, Lindelof and Eric Bailly should pair up in central defence. But Bailly played the full match vs Leicester and given his injury history, there’s also a chance that Solskjaer opts to use Axel Tuanzebe instead.

Fred and McTominay were both rested on Tuesday but the pair will reprise their role in central midfield with Bruno Fernandes starting in his usual No 10 role.

Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford will come back into the side and operate on the two flanks but young Mason Greenwood is not expected to start since he played a good 65-odd minutes against the Foxes.

Edinson Cavani came on during the second half yesterday but the South American will surely start against Liverpool. The visiting side could be using Fabinho and Nat Phillips in central defence tomorrow and if that is the case then Cavani could prove to be a nightmare for this pair.

Mason Greenwood scored Man United’s only goal on Tuesday and the youngster will obviously be available from the bench. But Solskjaer will be hoping not to use him since he has a key Europa League final to look forward to.

Man United’s predicted Xi vs Liverpool:

Predicted Starting Line-up: Dean Henderson; Luke Shaw, Bailly/Tuanzebe, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka; Fred, McTominay, Bruno Fernandes; Paul Pogba, Rashford, Cavani.
