Scotland will take on Moldova in the World Cup qualifiers on Friday and Steve Clarke should be eyeing nothing but all three points from this game.

Scotland need only one more win to secure a playoff spot for the 2022 World Cup and since their second match of the international break is against Denmark, Clarke will not be ready to leave anything to chance.

Moldova are sitting at the bottom of Group F and have failed to win even a single match in the qualifiers which means securing three points should not be a problem for the away side.

The Tartan Army have won their previous four group stages match and barring a major stumble then should be picking up an easy win on Friday as well. The manager does have absentees so we expect him to slightly alter the formation which he has been using so far.

Team news vs Moldova:

Tierney returned from his injury lay-off to feature for Arsenal last weekend and this is a big boost for the manager. The left-back is generally a part of a three-man defensive line for the national side and we expect this same arrangement to continue on Friday as well.

Billy Gilmour has badly fallen down the pecking order at Norwich City this season but the youngster should get a start in defensive midfielder against Moldova.

Nathan Patterson has really impressed this season and we have a feeling the 20-year-old will get to start as the right wing-back while Robertson plays on the other side.

Lyndon Dykes and Ryan Christie are both unavailable due to an accumulation of bookings which means Steve Clarke is expected to shift to a 3-5-1-1 formation with Che Adams playing as the lone man up front.

Ryan Fraser has also pulled out from the Scotland squad due to a possible injury which means the Scotland boss is a bit thin in the attacking areas right now.

Scott McTominay is going to start in a deeper role while John McGinn will play in the hole just behind Adams.

Scotland predicted line up vs Moldova:

Predicted Starting Line up(3-5-1-1): Gordon; Kieran Tierney, Hanley, Jack Hendry; Nathan Patterson, Billy Gilmour, Robertson, McLean, McTominay; McGinn; Che Adams.
