Southampton slumped to a 3-1 loss to Everton in the opening weekend of the Premier League and there’s a big chance they could suffer two consecutive losses as they take on Manchester United in matchweek two.
The last time these two sides played against each other, it was a catastrophe for the Saints and the way Man United have started their campaign, Ralph Hasenhüttl will have to be really careful with his team selection.
The manager has an almost fully fit squad to choose from and given how they performed against Everton last weekend, Hasenhuttl is expected to make a few shuffles to his starting line-up this time around.
The odds are heavily stacked against Southampton and the way Man United slaughtered Leeds United, the Saints will need divine intervention to pick up a win, despite playing on home territory.
Southampton’s team news vs Man United:
Jack Stephens and Salisu paired up in central defence but given how poorly Stephens performed against Everton, Jan Bednarek is likely to come into the starting line up.
Kyle Walker-Peters will also be pushing for place in the side and he should be starting on the right-hand side.

James Ward-Prowse recovered from a knee injury and started against Everton so he will once again be deployed in central midfield alongside Romeu.
Theo Walcott was another player who was really poor against the Toffees and there’s a massive chance the manager brings in Stuart Armstrong into the side in place for the ex-Arsenal man.
Adam Armstrong scored his first goal for Southampton while Che Adams provided the assist and since Danny Ings has left the club, the pair will team up against Manchester United as well.
Southampton predicted line up vs Man United:
Predicted Starting XI(4-4-2): McCarthy; Salisu, Bednarek, Walker-Peters, Perraud; Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Djenepo; Che Adams, Armstrong.
