Spurs suffered a humiliating loss to Arsenal in the North London Derby last weekend but they managed to overcome that loss in midweek, beating Mura 5-1 in the Conference League.

But this win is of very little importance to the Spurs fans as they want their team to start performing in the Premier League.

Spurs will take on Aston Villa in the league this weekend and Nuno’s side will need to get back to winning ways, otherwise, the manager’s job will be in grave danger.

The Lilywhites have a very good record against Villa but they have lost their previous three league matches and have managed to pick up only nine points from their first six matches. Villa go into this match with their tails up having beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford so Tottenham have a really big task in their hands on Sunday.

Spurs team news vs Aston Villa:

Nuno Espirito Santo shuffled his pack in midweek for the Conference League game but most of the first-team regulars are going to come back into the side on Sunday, starting with Hugo Lloris.

Christian Romero started in defence on Thursday so he will move back to the bench as Sanchez and Eric Dier return to the starting line-up.

Oliver Skipp could get a start in midfield against Aston Villa and even Emerson Royal is expected to start at right-back.

Dele Alli has been really underwhelming so far this season and Nuno Espirito Santo might finally push him to the bench, handing Lo Celso a chance to prove his worth in the attacking midfielder’s role.

If Oliver Skipp gets a start then Ndombele will be warming the benches.

Steven Bergwijn is ruled out with an ankle injury meaning the forward line is a no-brainer with Son and Lucas Moura operating as the two wingers.

Harry Kane scored a hat-trick on Thursday and this will give the England international a lot of confidence. Some pundits have urged the Spurs boss to bench the forward but we are sure Nuno is not going to take that risk against Aston Villa.

Spurs predicted line up vs Aston Villa:

Predicted Starting XI: Lloris; Reguilon, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Emerson Royal; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Lo Celso/Dele Alli; Son, Lucas Moura, Harry Kane.
