Liverpool take on Southampton in the Premier League on Friday and all eyes will be on Mo Salah.

The Egyptian started the 2018-19 season in fine form but during the past couple of months, he has seen a dip in form.

Many pundits had claimed that Mo Salah will not be able to replicate last season’s heroics and as the current campaign is coming to a close, those predictions are starting to come true.

Yes, Mo Salah has scored a flurry of goals this season too but this time, the defenders do not seem to be too worried about facing the forward.

And speaking before the Friday night encounter, Saints defender Ryan Bertrand has revealed how he is preparing to tackle Mo Salah.

Bertrand said: “It’s always good to play against the best players. That is why you play and it’s the ultimate aim.”

“I won’t change my preparations. I’m just looking forward to seeing his strengths and seeing his weaknesses and trying to nullify some and exploiting the others.

“It’s important for both teams,

“They are fighting for the Premier League with a chance to create history for their first title in so long.

“Equally we need the points and are fighting for different reasons. It should be a nice competitive game and I’m really looking forward to it.”

While many experts have pointed fingers at Mo Salah and his poor form but Jurgen Klopp doesn’t seem too concerned about it.

Klopp on Salah: “People talk about how many games he hasn’t scored in but he doesn’t seem bothered.

“It’s about work rate, doing it again and again, and one day the ball will bounce in your direction.

“We have 79pts – you can’t have that if you have major problems in a season.”
