West Ham United got past Wolves in the Premier League last weekend thereby keeping their top-four hopes alive and next up, they will shift their focus to the FA Cup where they take on Southampton.

The Hammers have never lost to the Saints in the FA Cup and they also go into this game having not lost their previous five FA Cup matches. This is going to be the third meeting between these two sides this season and surprisingly Southampton have not lost the previous two fixtures.

David Moyes is surely going to rotate his starting line up in midweek but the manager has several injury absentees going into this game so he will have to be mindful of that. Also, West Ham United take on Liverpool next weekend in the league so Moyes will definitely have one eye on that.

The Hammers have a slight edge going into this 5th Round match but Hassenhutl’s side have lost only one game at home this season so the London side will have their work cut out when they visit the St Mary’s Stadium.

West Ham United team news vs Southampton:

Fabianski will be rested as Areola comes into the side and even the defensive line is going to see a few changes because Ogbonna and Coufal are both ruled out.

While Ogbonna is out for the remainder of the season, Coufal is set to return sometime next month.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek are both likely to be rested in midweek meaning Alex Kral and Mark Noble are set to pair up in central midfield.

Manuel Lanzini did play against Wolves during the weekend but against Southampton, Benrahma could be playing in the No 10 role.

Michail Antonio will also start on the bench with Jarrod Bowen expected to lead the line. Andriy Yarmolenko and Masuaku are both out for the 5th Round tie.

West Ham United predicted line up vs Southampton:

Predicted Starting XI(4-2-3-1): Areola; Fredericks, Diop, Kurt Zouma, Ben Johnson; Alex Kral, Mark Noble; Fornals, Benrahma/Lanzini, Vlasic; Jarrod Bowen.
