Here’s what ‘this’ Man Utd man would have to do in order to secure a move to Spain

Juan Mata and Willian Chelsea and Man United

A number of Man United players are out of contract this summer and most of them are not expected to remain at the club next season.

One such player is Juan Mata who right now looks to be on the verge of moving out as a free transfer at the end of the season.

Juan Mata joined Man United in 2014 from Chelsea but the Spaniard has never quite been able to become a first team regular under any manager at the club.

Having said that though, the playmaker has always performed when called upon but now that Solskjaer is planning a major overhaul, there seems to be no place for Juan Mata in the new look side.

While some reports claim that Man United are willing to offer the Spaniard a new one-year deal but the talks have been stalled because Mata’s representatives want atleast a two-year deal.

Mata’s father has also claimed that a number of clubs have shown interest in signing him during the summer and one such team is Barcelona.

Going to Barcelona will not be of any major help to Juan Mata and his career given that he will only be playing sparingly but the Spaniards want him onboard given his off-field charity work and also the prospect of selling him for a profit in the near future.

But now fresh reports are claiming that Barca will only be willing to sign Juan Mata is if the Spaniard choose to take a wage cut as the terms of his new deal.

Mata currently earns £170,000-a-week at Old Trafford but Barcelona are not ready to pay that much money to someone who will be a bench warmer.

While the revised fee has not been revealed but rumours have it that the La Liga giants are only willing to pay Juan Mata around £120,000-a-week but this cannot be confirmed just yet.

The Man United man though is in a position to ask for a big wage given that he will be joining Barcelona on a free transfer and if somehow the deal does not go through then there are a number of clubs who are interested in signing the midfielder.
