Jack Grealish had another five-star performance for the England national team as Southgate’s men beat Hungary 4-0, carrying on from where he left off in the European Championship.

The winger ended the match with one assist and had a rating of 8.5 out of 10 as per Fotmob. He provided 38 passes during the match out of which 32 were made in the opposition half.

Without a doubt, he looked a much more composed player against Hungary and according to Trevor Sinclair, the quality at Manchester City has helped him become much more assured about his place in the national side.

Sinclair told talkSPORT, as quoted by MEN: “When I watched Jack when he was playing for the Under-21s, I wasn’t quite sure what it was that I liked so much about him.

“As I watched him more and more it was the tiny bits of detail; his first touch, how he kills the ball and controls whatever scenario he is in.

“Then it was that weight of pass, whether it was the weight, no bobbles, to the right side of the player so your team-mate is not having to fight for the ball with the defender, and it is all those tiny little bits of detail that I like about his game.

“But he has brought it all together and now on the international stage he looks confident. Before, he looked like he was in here, but still fighting for his position. Now, he looks like he’s in this [England] team and he feels comfortable in this team.

“That is the difference between playing for Aston Villa, without being disrespectful, where he is one of not many players in the squad, to be playing at Manchester City where literally everyone in that squad is an international.”

He has registered one goal and one assist for Manchester City so far this season and his average rating for City in the league is 8.25 out of 10.

Everyone thought he will take some time to find his niche inside the Manchester City dressing room but Jack Grealish has dived straight into the deep end of the pool.

As the season progresses, he will have to fight for his place in the starting lineup with players like Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne but if he can maintain this same momentum then he will be one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s teamsheets every weekend.
