Chelsea picked up their first win of the new season as Tammy Abraham scored a brace vs Norwich City.

Before last week, the Blues had managed to pick up just a single point from their first two games of the season and they had also lost the UEFA Super Cup final to Liverpool.

And this weekend too they were staring down at defeat as the Canaries went into half-time 2-2.

Tammy Abraham opened the scoring in the third minute as Mason Mount added the second in the 17th minutes but goals from Cantwell and Pukki cancelled those out until Abraham scored again with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Frank Lampard had said before the season that he wanted to give youth a chance and it was a youngster – Tammy Abraham who actually saved the manager’s blushes at Carrow Road.

Tammy Abraham obviously has a lot of potential but according to Jamie Redknapp, the striker should try and be as ruthless as Diego Costa in order to be successful at Stamford Bridge.

Redknapp told the Daily Mail(as reported by The Metro): ‘Let’s give Frank Lampard credit for the way he secured his first Premier League win as a manager at Norwich.

‘There was pressure on his side to win but Lampard had the courage to start with Tammy Abraham upfront and his bravery was rewarded as the 21-year-old got two goals.

‘Abraham is not the finished article. I think he needs to be nastier and a master of the dark arts like Diego Costa. Then maybe the No 9 shirt will be his for the foreseeable future.’

Last season Tammy Abraham was sent out on loan to Aston Villa where he managed to rack up 26 goals in just 42 games across all competitions.

And this season, thanks to the brace vs Norwich the 21-year-old has made a pretty good start to his time at Chelsea.
