Chelsea signed Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus until the end of the season with an option to buy during the summer.
And after a poor Premier League debut against Bournemouth, the Argentine scored a brace vs Huddersfield during the weekend and silenced a number of his critics.
After the 4-0 loss to the Cherries, Sarri had claimed that Higuain would take some time to get back into form but the Juventus loanee was right back on track just three days after that defeat.
But according to former Blue Pat Nevin, it is another Chelsea striker who will outshine Gonzalo Higuain by the end of the season.
Nevin was talking about Michy Batshuayi who has been sent out on loan to Crystal Palace until the end of the season.
“Michy Batshuayi is a fantastic goalscorer,” Pat Nevin told BBC Sport(as reported).
“I am not sure about his overall play but he could end up scoring more goals than any Chelsea striker this season.”
Michy Batshuayi joined Chelsea in 2016 from Marseille but since then the striker has failed to carve out a niche for himself in the Blues first XI.
All that he has done is move around Europe on various loan spells but he was sure that his fortunes would chance upon the arrival of Maurizio Sarri.
But much like his the other managers, Sarri too sent Michy Batshuayi out on loan to La Liga side Valencia during the summer.
And this proved to be a disaster since the striker managed to score only a single goal during his 15 league appearance for the Spanish side.
Valencia cut the loan deal short and sent him back to London in January.
But now with Crystal Palace Michy Batshuayi is hoping to shine and prove to the Chelsea management that he is worthy of a first-team spot under Maurizio Sarri.
