Tottenham Hotspur and France No 1 Hugo Lloris was recently asked who is the best player that he has played against.

And in reply to that question Lloris named a player which clearly wouldn’t have come to the minds of many a football fans – well not atleast from this generation.

Talking to RMC Sport, the Spurs goalkeeper said:

“It’s hard to pick one,

“A player like Raúl, I played him when he was at Real Madrid and Schalke, he always had that quick glance on the goalkeeper, on where he was positioned and he shot depending on that.

“After that, there’s the Suarez’s, the Messi’s, I don’t need to present them.

“Back in the day, there was also Pauleta at Paris Saint-Germain. I played him a lot when I was at Nice.”

Hugo Lloris joined the Premier League club back in 2012 from French side Lyon and since then the shot-stopper has played a number of great players.

But the fact that he still considers Raul as the best, speaks volumes about the former Real Madrid man and Spain legend.

On the personal front though, Hugo Lloris remains a serious doubt for the clash against Liverpool this weekend after the World Cup winner did not make into the French squad during the international break.

While the footballer maintains that he will be able to recover from the thigh strain but many experts feel that the keeper will likely not feature for Spurs on Saturday forcing Mauricio Pochettino to play Michel Vorm in front of the goal.
