Jose Mourinho has already started his rebuilding in Rome and according to the latest reports, he is looking to target his former club Tottenham Hotspur to try and sign Hugo Lloris.

Hugo Lloris was one of the better performers at Spurs during the Mourinho regime and it seems like the Portuguese wants to bring him to AS Roma before the new season begins.

AS Roma Live claims: “World champion with France Lloris immediately seemed a goal for Roma. And as we at Asromalive had anticipated, the Special One had been looking for it right away.

“But at that moment, it was not easy to imagine that the pieces were moving in this way.”

Lloris has been with Spurs since 2012 after joining from Lyon and during the 2020-21 season, he has kept 12 clean sheets in 38 Premier League games for the club.

But the report also makes it clear that Jose Mourinho is not ready to gamble everything on the French keeper as he is also willing to test the waters with a move for Wolves keeper Rui Patricio.

Hugo Lloris has entered the final year of his contract at Spurs so there’s a big chance that Daniel Levy will look to cash in on the 34-year-old instead of offering him a new deal.

Wolves have a very similar problem with Patricio as he too has entered the final year of his deal and to make matters worse Nuno Espirito Santo has also parted ways with the club.

Patricio is in no ways an average keeper but we have a feeling that Mourinho will, for now, keep all his focus on Hugo Lloris, more so since the keeper has not ruled out a summer exit.

“I will answer these questions once the European Championships are over,” he told French publication Nice-Matin when asked about his departure from Spurs, as quoted by Football London.

As per TransferMarkt, Lloris is valued at £8.10 million while Rui Patricio is valued at £9 million and since both of them have one more year left on their respective deals, a transfer fee of around £15-17 million should be enough to sign him – if Wolves or Spurs are ready to cash in.
