Rangers FC winger Ianis Hagi has been hit-and-miss for the first-team squad since his arrival and recently he’s been linked with an exit.

Hagi had spent some time in the Serie A with Fiorentina and according to a recent rumour, Italian side AS Roma want to sign him at the start of the new year.

Alex McLeish though has urged Ianis Hagi to reject all the offers and remain at Rangers if he wishes to win continued silverware.

“When you put in a good showing for your country, scoring against one of the best nations in the world, it will lead to interest,” he told Football Insider.

“Hagi, over the past couple of years, has tried to cement himself as a regular for Rangers.

“That’s the level he’s aspiring to, but he’s found it difficult with Rangers having the collection of technically gifted players they do.

“It would really benefit him to stay put at the moment and see where it can take his career a couple of years down the line.

“If he has continued success with Rangers, winning trophies and earning good money, then what’s the point in leaving?”

Will Ianis Hagi choose to remain with Rangers and reject the AS Roma offer?

The rumours are building up that AS Roma will look to sign Ianis Hagi during the January transfer window and if they are serious about signing him then there’s a big chance he will move out.

This season, the 22-year-old has played in five games, scoring one goal and it will be really difficult for him to turn down an offer to play under Jose Mourinho.

His current contract with Rangers FC expires in 2024 but if AS Roma are really willing to pay €20million then we don’t think even Steven Gerrard will oppose a sale.

His current market value is only €6.5 million so €20 million will be a huge profit, something which the Gers will not be able to turn down.

All in all, it remains to be seen if AS Roma try and sign him in January but if Mourinho does come calling, neither the player nor the Gers will stop a sale(for the correct transfer fee).
