Serie A side Inter Milan could offer the services of Christian Eriksen to Arsenal, in a swap deal for midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to Tuttosport.

The Daily Mail cites Tuttosport saying: “Inter Milan are looking to end Christian Eriksen’s horror spell by lining up a swap deal that would take the former Tottenham star to Arsenal and see Lucas Torreira move the other way, according to reports.

“And according to Italian publication Tuttosport, Inter are now considering a swap deal between Eriksen and Torreira.

“The report claims that Inter are eyeing a back-up for Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, and are considering a move for the Gunners loanee.”

Will Inter Milan be successful sending Eriksen to Arsenal?

Inter Milan have been really struggling to offload Christian Eriksen during the January transfer window and it looks like a swap deal is the best possible solution to send the Danish international out of the club.

Lucas Torreira is nothing but a burden for Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal boss will have no problems in sending him to the Serie A, especially if he can get his hands on someone like Christian Eriksen.

But what remains to be seen is if the former Spurs man is inclined to join Arsenal given the fierce rivalry between the two North London sides.

During the 2020-21 season, Eriksen has played in only nine league matches for Inter Milan and has no future whatsoever in Italy. So in such a scenario, moving to the Emirates makes much more sense rather than respecting the North London rivalry.

As per the report, the negotiations between Arsenal and Inter Milan have not begun yet but one of the demands from the Serie A side is that the Emirates outfit pay Eriksen’s wages in full.

We are not sure how Arsenal will react to this clause but now that they have managed to get Mesut Ozil off their books, paying a big star should not be a major problem from the Premier League side.

Torreira too will be more than happy to try his luck in Italy since at Atletico Madrid, the loanee has played just 208 minutes in the La Liga so far this campaign.
