Even though new manager Thiago Motta is a big fan of midfielder Adrien Rabiot, he is likely going to leave Juventus as a free agent in the next couple of weeks.

Juventus are trying hard to make him sign a new deal but his mother and agent Veronique are making things really hard and with teams like Real Madrid, Milan, Liverpool and Manchester United interested in him, Rabiot could be playing in new club colours next season.

Manchester United had failed to land the 29-year-old two years ago but they have once again reignited their interest in the central midfielder and Liverpool have also put in enquiries for him. Real Madrid, on the other hand, have to find a replacement for Toni Kroos and since Adrien Rabiot will be available as a free agent, the Frenchman can be the ideal target for Carlo Ancelotti.

Should Real Madrid be targeting someone like Adrien Rabiot?

There’s no way Adrien Rabiot is good enough to fill the boots of a legend like Toni Kroos but with him, the Los Blancos will not have to spend money on a reinforcement.

Rabiot has been with Juventus since 2019 and since then, he has played in over 200 games for the club. He might not be one of the most talked about central midfielders in Europe but over the years, he has been a consistent figure in the middle of the pitch for the Old Lady.

Apart from the first season, Adrien Rabiot has always had a rating of 7.5 out of 10 for Juventus and this season, he has featured in 35 matches out of which 31 have been in the Serie A.

Rabiot can certainly fit in Madrid’s all-star midfield alongside players like Camavinga and Tchouameni and the fact that they don’t have to pay a dime for him makes a pursuit very logical and acceptable.

Will the midfielder choose Madrid or will he prefer joining an English side?

If Adrien Rabiot is leaving Juventus then obviously he will be tempted to play for Real Madrid given that they are the best team in Europe right now but if he chooses to join the Los Blancos then his game time will be significantly limited.

With Mbappe and Endrick coming in, Jude Bellingham will most likely come back into central midfield next season which means Adrien Rabiot will probably be a backup midfielder at the Bernabeu.

At Man United or Liverpool, however, the 29-year-old will have the chance to play much more regularly because United will lose Eriksen and Casemiro while Thiago is going to leave Liverpool as a free agent. So, if one of these clubs is ready to pay a premium salary package then Adrien Rabiot won’t mind snubbing Real Madrid and packing his bags for the Premier League.
