Arsenal are growing really frustrated in trying to sign Fiorentina’s heavyweight forward Dusan Vlahovic which is why they are planning to shift their focus to Alexander Isak, as per The Athletic.
Vlahovic has been on the Gunners radar for a really long time now but the Premier League side are nowhere close to securing a deal for the centre-forward.
Arsenal are ready to pay the required transfer fee for Vlahovic but as per the latest reports, the player himself is not ready to join the North London side. Even the Fiorentina director Joe Barone had recently claimed that a transfer deal is nowhere close to being secured.
“Some English clubs have made contact, but there is no agreement yet,” he said, as quoted. “We are open [to selling] but there can’t be a deal unless someone [Vlahovic] agrees.
“I haven’t heard anything from them [Vlahovic’s representatives]. I had asked Vlahovic’s agent to be clear, but I haven’t heard anything, no contact at all.”
Are Arsenal going to shift their focus to Alexander Isak?
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Gunners are looking to shift their focus to the Real Sociedad forward.

The 22-year-old joined the La Liga side from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and since then he’s scored 41 goals in 113 games. This season, Isak has netted four goals in 18 league outings.
He’s nowhere close to the talent that Vlahovic possess but if Arsenal cannot sign the Fiorentina man then are bound to shift their focus to someone like Alexander Isak.
Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he needs reinforcements for the second half of the season and Isak is going to be a pretty good partner to Lacazette, especially with Aubameyang’s career at the club now fully over.
Dusan Vlahovic’s price tag is around £60 million but Alexander Isak has a reported release clause of £75 million and this is really steep when considering the fact that the forward has netted only four league goals this season.
With such a massive price tag, Arteta and Edu are going to give it a real hard thought before they make a formal move for Isak.
