Ole Solskjaer might be sacked and here’s who could replace him: Good choice?

Manchester United have hit a new low in the post-Ferguson era going down 5-0 to Liverpool at home and now there are rumours that Antonio Conte could become their next manager.

Ole Solskjaer has been given a lot of time to prove himself but the Norwegian has done very little to revive the club’s faith. This summer, the board also backed him with some big signings but the club’s performances have seen a steady decline as the weeks have passed by.

Solskjaer has himself admitted that the club have hit rock-bottom but at the same time, he’s focused to turn things around. By the looks of it though he might not have too much time on his hands.

A few weeks ago, there were reports that Antonio Conte did not want to take up the job at Old Trafford but according to Fabrizio Romano, this is not the case.

While the Italian transfer expert has made it clear that Man United have not yet contacted the Chelsea boss, but Conte has never ruled out a chance to manage the Red Devils.

He wrote on Twitter: “No meeting in the night for Man Utd board. They’ll decide final position in the next hours/days – Solskjær has always been protected so far.

“Rumours about Antonio Conte ‘not considering’ Man Utd job were NOT true. But no official talks yet.”

Antonio Conte recently parted ways with Inter Milan after helping them win the Serie A and before that, he even found success with Chelsea in the Premier League.

So, the English top division is not going to be a gamble for him.

The 52-year-old spent two years at Stamford Bridge through 2016 to 2018 and during this time he won the Premier League and the FA Cup with the Blues.

But having said that, the Italian is famous for instant success but as soon as he leaves a particular club, they make little to no progress.

Some say Man United have wasted time in trying to rebuild from the ground up so now is the time to scrap the process and win silverwares. And someone like Antonio Conte will be perfect for this job.

We will keep a close eye on the developments but we doubt if United will take the risk of sacking Solskjaer right before a crucial run of matches. They face teams like Spurs, Atalanta and Man City in their next three matches and the club will want is to bring in a new manager amidst this tight schedule.
