Is Thomas Tuchel really planning to sign this Arsenal superstar for the 2021/22 season?

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to bring in a new centre-forward to the club this summer and according to The Telegraph, one of the names on his list happens to be Arsenal’s Aubameyang.

Tuchel and Aubameyang share a healthy relationship from their Dortmund days and this is why the Chelsea boss might look to make a move for the Arsenal forward if the club fails to sign their top priority targets.

Matt Law writes: “Tuchel revealed earlier this season that he remains in touch with Aubameyang and claimed the striker “will always be my player.”

“Aubameyang suffered his most frustrating season yet at Arsenal and will be unhappy that the club missed out on European qualification.

“Arsenal only gave their captain a new £350,000-a-week contract last summer, but there are already mumerings that the club would listen to offers from him. Frank Lampard unsuccessfully tried to convince Chelsea to sign Aubameyang last summer, with the club believing that, given his age, the deal would be too expensive.”

Aubameyang to Chelsea a real possibility?

It’s not even been a year that Arsenal have handed Aubameyang a new contract at the club and already the Gunners seem to be regretting this decision.

The Gabon international has been really underwhelming this season, scoring just 10 goals in 29 Premier League games and right now, he’s looking like a shadow of his past self.

But having said that, we doubt if Arteta will be too keen to sell the forward to a direct rival like Chelsea. Auba might be 31 years old but he can still inflict a lot of damage when he gets into the groove.

Also, Chelsea will only try and make a move for Aubameyang once they have failed to secure the services of players like Lukaku, Haaland and Harry Kane. So there is no immediate possibility that the recently crowned Champions League winners will be coming after the Arsenal captain.
