Manchester City have let Joao Cancelo join Bayern Munich on a loan deal but the left-back is not expected to be back at the club. Now, as per the latest updates, Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell could be the one to replace him.

Chilwell joined Chelsea from Leicester City for a £50 million fee before the 2020-21 season but his graph has taken a dip due to constant injury problems. This season, he has started only four Premier League games for the Blues playing just 424 minutes.

Also, Chelsea have gone ahead and signed Marc Cucurella from Brighton which means Ben Chilwell has automatically fallen down the pecking order.

Joao Cancelo’s time at Manchester City has come to an abrupt ending and everyone’s more than certain that the left-back is not coming to the club.

Bayern Munich will most likely sign him on a permanent deal which means Ben Chilwell joining the Etihad outfit can be a reality in the coming months.

However, the reports are very clear that Chilwell is not the only left-back who is on Man City’s radar as they have a long list of targets.

However, with Cucurella’s move to Chelsea signing the England international has become a lot easier. If Cucurella can become a regular at the club by the end of this season then Todd Boehly won’t mind offloading Ben Chilwell.

Also, the Blues currently have a massive squad so even if the manager doesn’t want to, he will still have to sell off several first-team players in order to balance the books.
