Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United is a story which we hear almost every transfer window and it’s not different this time either.

Juventus are eager to bring back midfielder Paul Pogba to Turin at the start of the new year and as per the Independent, the Serie A side is not opposed to the idea of a swap deal between the French World Cup winner and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The report states: “If Paul Pogba had his way, he would be back at Juventus as early as January. In fact, he’d probably never have left.

“They want Pogba now, and realise a player swap might be the best way to get it done.

“The Turin hierarchy would willingly do such a deal for 1 January. For all the debate about Pogba in England, that discussion just doesn’t exist in Italy. He is still seen as a potential Ballon d’Or winner, and the kind of star that – yes – Juventus can build their team and their future around. That in itself is pointed, because there’s a player who occupies that status at Juventus now. It is a player United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has long coveted: Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Juventus would not be completely against the idea of swapping him for Pogba. Ronaldo is supreme but has a huge gravitational effect on the entire club. The financial commitment he requires means Juventus can’t start the rebuild they badly require, and his playing style means they can’t impose a more collective game – that both Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo have wanted.”

Is Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Man United?

Ronaldo is someone who is still at the top of his game and every Manchester United fan would love to see him close his playing career at Old Trafford.

But we seriously do not think this swap deal will be possible, especially during the middle of the season.

Manchester United have been knocked out of the Champions League and there’s no way Ronaldo will be eager to give up the opportunity to lift another UCL trophy at the end of the campaign.

If this swap deal offer is tabled next summer then there’s every chance that Cristiano Ronaldo might choose to pack his bags and return to the Premier League. given that Ed Woodward is ready to pay his humongous wages.
