Manchester United have agreed on a deal to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona but according to Sport, the midfielder is not willing to leave.
De Jong is not interested in reuniting with Erik ten Hag at Man United because he wishes to remain at Camp Nou beyond the summer.
The report claims that the midfielder’s agent, Ali Dursun, is the one who is actually trying to send him to Old Trafford even though he is more than happy at FC Barcelona.
After a lot of hustle, Man United had finally been able to wrap the signing of their biggest summer target but this report is sure to spice things up in the coming few days.
Is Frenkie de Jong really not interested in joining Man United?
Well, for starters, this report has come out in Sport who, a few days ago, had claimed that Arsenal were no longer interested in signing Raphinha even though the Gunners were still very much in the race so it’s pretty clear that this bit of news cannot be trusted so soon.
Samuel Luckhurst, who is the chief Man United reporter for MEN has claimed that the club have agreed on a transfer with Barcelona and we doubt if the Camp Nou outfit are so naive that they have agreed to sell one of their star players without even consulting him.

Initially, Frenkie de Jong had publicly claimed that he is more than willing to stay at Barcelona but since the talks of his transfer have progressed, there have been no such statements from the midfielder.
Also, De Jong is one of Barcelona’s biggest asset so there’s very little chance that they will agree to sell him off without keeping him in the loop.
We highly doubt if this report from Sport has any major base to it but the picture will get a lot clearer by the end of this weekend.
