Is this man the biggest culprit for Liverpool’s loss to Chelsea at Anfield?

Liverpool suffered yet another home loss in the Premier League, this time at the hands of Chelsea and pundit Perry Groves has now pointed fingers at manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool came up with another lacklustre performance at Anfield and this 1-0 loss to Chelsea, means they could be in serious trouble in terms of missing in the top-four this season.

And according to the pundit, Jurgen Klopp needs to pull his players back together and also justify his wages.

“I actually think Liverpool have had a result tonight that they’ve only been beaten 1-0,” Groves told talkSPORT.

“The Liverpool players aren’t doing their jobs properly. Jurgen Klopp, who is the leader of Liverpool football club, he isn’t doing his job properly at this particular time.

“Players go through dips in form, I think Klopp is going through the biggest dip in form of his managerial career. At Dortmund, he had a dip where they were bottom and got them back to seventh. He learnt. The stuff he’s doing at the moment, there doesn’t seem to be a clear, clinical thought process.

“The team hasn’t got any leaders on the pitch at the moment. The team isn’t getting any leadership so this is where the manager has to give leadership. At the moment he’s not doing it. Now the manager has to find a way (to get over the injuries) and at the moment he isn’t doing it.

“He looks like he’s lost his way. It’s easy when you’re fist pumping, running down the touchline when things are going your way. You still have to give that leadership when things aren’t going well.

“At the moment when you look over, he’s not doing it. Even bad Liverpool teams never went and lost five on the trot at home. I’ve been sticking up for Jurgen Klopp quite a bit because of all the outside stuff beyond his control. There’s stuff within his control he’s not doing properly.”

Perry Groves has hit the nail in the head by claiming that Jurgen Klopp has not seen such a big void in his team’s form during his senior managerial career and it seems like he has no reply right now.

The manager is as clueless as his players and this was clearly evident when Chelsea were picking passes through the Liverpool midfield and defence, as if, the Blues themselves were playing a home match.

The loss means Liverpool are now seventh on the league table with 43 points and could fall further down if Spurs and Aston Villa win their games in hand.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have moved back into the fourth spot and the way they are playing, Tuchel’s side looks destined to maintain their Champions League status next season.
