23-year-old Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is on the transfer radar of Serie A giants Napoli, according to a report in The Telegraph.

Daily Mail cite The Telegraph saying: “Napoli are reportedly eyeing a move for Kieran Tierney with the Arsenal left-back on a list of long-term transfer targets for the Italian side.

“Arsenal beat Napoli to the Scotland international’s signature in 2019 but The Telegraph report that the Serie A club have not given up hope of signing him in a future transfer window.

“According to the report, Napoli will look for a short-term solution at left-back before making another attempt at signing Tierney.”

Can Napoli sign Kieran Tierney from Arsenal?

Arsenal paid £25million to Celtic in the summer of 2019 for the transfer of Kieran Tierney and last season, the youngster had to sweat it out in the Premier League.

A series of injury setbacks forced Tierney to prove his worth at the Emirates but this season, the left-back has turned himself into a regular feature in the starting XI.

With the kind of performances he’s been putting out, it’s no secret that a club like Napoli have once again shown interest in signing him. But there’s no way Mikel Arteta will allow the defender to leave any time soon.

Kieran Tierney signed a five year contract at the club so Arsenal are in no hurry in parting ways with him.

Also, after having a troublesome first season in England, the Scottish international is finally being appreciated at the highest level so the last thing he’d want is to move to a totally new league and start from scratch.

The rumours mills will be putting out a lot of things over the next few weeks but we don’t think Napoli stand a chance at signing Kieran Tierney in the near future.
