Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea have joined the race to sign defensive midfielder Marcelo Brozovic from Serie A side Inter Milan, according to 90min.

The exclusive report claims: “Chelsea are considering competing with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich for the signature of Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozović.

“Inter are contemplating parting ways with the Croatia international to fund their own shopping spree, with Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté and Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele on Antonio Conte’s wish list, and both Bayern and PSG have made it clear that they would be interested in landing Brozović.

“The Blues are by no means the only English side to have tracked Brozović.

“Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have all sent scouts to monitor the midfielder in 2020 and could well enter the race at a later date.”

Where will Marcelo Brozovic end up playing?

Clearly, Bayern Munich and PSG are much more serious than the two Premier League sides about signing Marcelo Brozovic but Liverpool and Chelsea are expected to ramp up their interest in the coming few weeks.

Liverpool have been pushed on the back foot in the transfer race of Thiago Alcantara with the entry of Manchester United while Frank Lampard is also expected to lose N’Golo Kante this summer.

Thiago is still Klopp’s first-choice target but since the Reds are not ready to pay the asking price, there are fears that Man United might swoop in and land the Bayern man.

Kante is wanted by Antonio Conte at Inter Milan and some experts think Chelsea could use the Frenchman as a counterweight in signing Marcelo Brozovic.

With so many big names involved, this transfer will surely get more complex over the course of this month but Conte is more than willing to part ways with the 27-year-old so we do expect Marcelo Brozovic to play for a new side next season.

But will it be in the Premier League, that we’ll have to wait and see?
