Manchester United will take on Leeds United in the Premier League this weekend and there’s a big chance that Marcus Rashford might be an absentee for this match.

Rashford has been struggling to recover from a knee injury for the past few weeks and it looks like the manager has chosen to give the forward some much-deserved rest.

Man United got a rare week off and Solskjaer has confirmed that Marcus Rashford has not trained with the side for the whole week, thereby putting him in doubt for Sunday’s match.

“Marcus hasn’t trained but I hope that he will join us tomorrow,” said Solskjaer on Friday.

“Apart from that everyone – of course Anthony is injured still – has had a couple of days of recovery and a week of preparation and training. You need that against these. They make you go to the edge physically and mentally.

“They have a unique style of play and it’s a game we’re looking forward to.”

Marcus Rashford has been one of the big performers for Manchester United this season, scoring 10 and assisting 10 goals in 32 Premier League games so far. So obviously Ole will be desperate to see him return to full fitness as soon as possible.

But, on the other hand, the last thing the manager will want is to cause even more damage to the player’s ankle by overusing him, especially when the Euro is just around the corner.

Also, Man United have a really key Europa League semi-final game vs AS Roma coming up next week so there’s every chance that the manager might not risk using Marcus Rashford on Sunday.

If Rashford is not playing then Pau Pogba is likely to feature on the left wing vs Leeds United while the manager also has the option of bringing in someone like Dan James.
