N’Golo Kante is likely to leave in the summer and the midfielder’s services have been offered to FC Barcelona, according to Gerard Romero.
Arsenal have been keen to land the French international because he’s going to be a free agent but as per the rumours, Barcelona could end up signing Kante as a replacement for Sergio Busquets.
N’Golo Kante was tipped to sign a new deal with Chelsea but it looks like he is going to move out since the Blues are not offering him a new contract.
Kante’s agents have offered him to the Blaugrana in recent weeks and there’s a big chance the World Cup winner could end up playing at the Camp Nou next season.
Will N’Golo Kante choose Barcelona or Arsenal?
Pundit Paul Merson has urged Chelsea to hold onto two players and one of them is Kante.
He has told Sportskeeda: “They have too many players and with Mauricio Pochettino set to take over the reins from Frank Lampard, he’s got a massive job on his hands to trim the squad. He won’t want to work with 30-odd players, so I think there could be a bit of a fire sale at Stamford Bridge this summer.
“Two players who shouldn’t be allowed to leave are Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante.”
We can’t say about Mason Mount but because Chelsea have signed Enzo Fernandez, there’s a very slim chance they will hold onto Kante any more.
Arsenal are about to lose both Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey(possibly) and they were hoping to sign save a ton of money by signing a free agent like N’Golo Kante.
However, if Barcelona show an interest in the 32-year-old, we don’t think Kante will be able to reject the Catalan giants. At 32, he could be a hit or a miss in the Premier League but in the La Liga, playing alongside side someone like Frenkie de Jong, N’Golo Kante can work wonders.
Chelsea are going to announce their release list very soon and Kante’s name should be on it but we highly doubt if he is going to join Arsenal in the summer. Mikel Arteta’s side might have gotten back into the Champions League but they will only stand a chance if Barcelona are uninterested.
