Manchester United have understood that they will not be able to sign Jadon Sancho which is why they are now trying to bring in Frenchman Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona, according to Duncan Castles.

He wrote for the Daily Record: “Manchester United have progressed talks with Barcelona over the transfer of Ousmane Dembele.

“The English Premier League club have proposed a season loan deal for the France international; Barcelona want a sale, and are pricing Dembele at €100million.

“Record Sport understands that senior Old Trafford officials, including executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, have spoken to Barcelona counterparts about the viability of a move.

“Although the Catalans would be prepared to let the forward leave on loan before the October 5 transfer deadline, they have said they will only do so if an obligatory purchase option is included in the deal.”

Is Ousmane Dembele going to a good signing for Man United?

When Barcelona had signed Ousmane Dembele back in 2017 from Dortmund the Frenchman was one of the most promising youngsters in world football.

But during his three years at the Camp Nou, he’s spent more time in the medical room as compared to on the pitch.

And this is the main reason why Manchester United are only eager to sign Ousmane Dembele on a loan deal right now.

With the kind of injury record which he has, no club will be eager to sign the 23-year-old for the reported price of €100million.

Manchester United will surely not be foolish enough to spend so much money on an injury prone player but if they can get Ousmane Dembele on a loan deal then it could very well turn out to be the perfect solution to the Jadon Sancho problem.
