Liverpool might have given up the chase for Thiago Alcantara as they are now planning to make a move for Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, according to 90min.
The exclusive report claims: “Chelsea are considering competing with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich for the signature of Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozović.
“The Blues are by no means the only English side to have tracked Brozović.
“Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have all sent scouts to monitor the midfielder in 2020 and could well enter the race at a later date.
“Brozović has just two years remaining on his contract and Inter recognise that selling now maybe their last chance to demand a sizeable fee for a player who is seen by many to be one of the finest in his position.”
Will Liverpool miss out on Thiago Alcantara?
If this is true then it’s great news for Manchester United who, in the past couple of weeks, have upped their interest in the Bayern Munich man.
Thiago Alcantara has one more year left on his current deal which is why Liverpool are not too keen to pay the transfer fee being demanded by Bayern Munich right now.
But Man United have no such problem and they are more than eager to meet Bayern’s demand of 30 million pounds in exchange for the 29-year-old.
And now this reported interest in Marcelo Brozovic is the first concrete proof that Liverpool might be giving up on the probability of signing Thiago Alcantara this summer.
Man United have already brought in Donny van de Beek from Ajax and many pundits believe that the Bayern Munich man is up next on Ole’s radar.
While Marcelo Brozovic will indeed by a top-class signing for Jurgen Klopp but the Anfield outfit will have to sweat it out here as well since the likes of Bayern Munich and PSG are seriously interested in landing the 27-year-old.
