Liverpool have been really average during the second half of the season and they have lost yet another Premier League game, this time going down 2-0 against Everton.
The Merseyside defeat means Jurgen Klopp’s side have now suffered four losses on the trot and they currently find themselves sixth on the Premier League table.
Liverpool have had to suffer numerous injury setbacks all throughout the season and many believe this is the biggest reason why the Reds are performing so poorly. While this might be a big factor but according to Trent Alexander-Arnold, the burden of winning each and every game is a big season why his side are collapsing under pressure.
The full-back said, as reported by Goal.com: “The trap we have probably fallen into this season is that we’ve almost expected to win games on some occasions because we know we have the quality to find that goal from somewhere.
“That happened naturally last season and the season before. But, breaking it down, it didn’t just happen because we were lucky – it happened because we were still working hard, we were doing the basics and the fundamentals right until the very last minute and that really worked in our favour.
“The fact that we were still doing those things meant that we would still create the right opportunities and we wouldn’t be forcing passes, but we’d still stick to our way and would create something we could score from.

“I think this season we’ve maybe forgotten a few of those fundamentals and we’ve kind of just expected to do that because it became so natural for us.”
Yes, Liverpool have been missing players like Van Dijk and Joe Gomez for most of the season but right now, it’s their forwards that been misfiring.
The Reds have scored 45 goals so far in the Premier League while teams like Man City and Man United have netted more than 50 goals each. And most of Liverpool’s goals have come during the first half of the season.
Liverpool will need to pull up their socks in the coming weeks or else they might miss out on Champions League football next season. Next up, they face Sheffield United in the league and Klopp will be eyeing nothing less than three points since the Blades have won just three games this season.
