Jack Grealish arrived at Manchester City with a lot of promise but his €117.5 million move has not gone according to plan. After a dismal season, City are now looking to offload him and two of the biggest European clubs are interested in acquiring his services.
As per The Sun, Inter and Borussia Dortmund are the two clubs who are keeping tabs on the whole situation as Man City prepare to cut their losses and rebuild their side for the next season.
How much should Man City demand for the winger?
City will obviously want to recoup a large part of the €117.5 million they had paid but Grealish’s current valuation is only €45 million so it will be very hard for the club to demand a premium fee.
Thankfully, his contract expires in 2027 so Man City can still demand around €50-55 million. Inter nor Dortmund are big spenders in the transfer market and if they were to back off, there aren’t too many big European clubs who will want to take the gamble of signing a 29-year-old Jack Grealish.
Should Jack Grealish get another opportunity at City?
Grealish was the superstar at Aston Villa playing in over 200 games for the club but his move to Manchester City can be dubbed as a massive failure. He’s scored just 15 goals in 145 appearances for the club and in the calendar year 2024, he did not even score a single goal.
His only goal this season has come in the FA Cup where he scored against Salford City in the second week of January.
The winger has won three Premier Leagues and one Champions League with Man City but he’s reached the end of the road as far this club is concerned. During the 24/25 campaign, he’s started in only 6 league games and Guardiola is clearly preferred to use Doku ahead of him.
According to reports, the England international is also open to the idea of leaving MCFC and a move to Italy or the Bundesliga won’t be such a bad idea. He would love to stay in England but we doubt if any big club will want to sign him(unless he’s available for a bargain fee).
Pep Guardiola wants to sign a new left-winger next summer and with Jeremy Doku in the squad, Jack Grealish clearly does not have any future at the club. We don’t think the manager will hurry into selling him during the ongoing transfer window but there’s no doubt that Grealish will be wearing new colours next season.
