By the looks of it, Aston Villa are planning to spend a lot of money in the transfer market this summer and according to former Premier League man Noel Whelan, this could be a sign that they wish to put Jack Grealish up for sale.
Clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Man City have all been linked with the England international and Noel believes Aston Villa could be preparing to rope in a heavy transfer fee by selling the 25-year-old.
“I think only the player will know what he wants,” he told Football Insider. “But they are already showing that intent by the signings and the player that they are linked with.
“My question mark is, Buendia is very much like a Grealish on the ball, getting on it, making things tick. You’ve then got Ward-Prowse as well to add to the mix.
“To me, these look like signings that are going to replace Jack Grealish and fit into that mould. It’s very hard to turn down Man City nowadays. It’s almost like they are a Real Madrid or Barcelona kind of side.
“If they come calling, nine times out of 10 a player is going to want to go because they are always going to be challenging for titles.
“Jack Grealish, like Harry Kane, has got to a stage where he needs to go out on and win things and get that opportunity. Jack’s already been very loyal but maybe it’s time for him to move on.”
Jack Grealish was set to leave Aston Villa last year but he chose to stay behind and sign a new deal at the club. And despite an injury-hit campaign, the England international managed to have a pretty good Premier League season.

He has also been named in the England squad for the Euros and if he can come out of this tournament with some fine performances then we don’t think Villa will want to hold onto him any longer.
Chelsea and Man City have been deemed as the current frontrunners in signing the 25-year-old but Manchester United are not going to give up without a fight either.
Man United were said to be at the top of the player’s wish list but his agent had made it clear last month that the Old Trafford outfit were not at the top of the pecking order.
“The truth is we don’t know (what will happen),” he said, as per MEN. “There are many clubs (interested) and I wouldn’t put Manchester United at the top of that (list).
“But he could stay. He could stay as well so it’s a conversation the club, Aston Villa, will have with Jack and ourselves then we’ll see where we go.”
