Liverpool might have suffered a setback within 24 hours of being linked with West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen.

The Athletic suggested that Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Jarrod Bowen which is why the Liverpool manager could consider a move for the 24-year-old.

James Pearce claimed: “West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen is on Liverpool’s radar as they consider adding more firepower to their squad, reports James Pearce.

“The Athletic understands that the 24-year-old forward’s name features on a shortlist drawn up of potential attacking targets.

“Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp rates him highly and the club will continue to monitor his development even if they don’t ultimately pursue a deal this summer.”

Liverpool to miss out on Jarrod Bowen?

The Liverpool fans were really excited about their club making a move for someone like Bowen, a winger who scored eight and assisted five goals last season for the Hammers.

But just 24 hours after this initial report, The Athletic’s West Ham correspondent Roshane Thomas has said that the London outfit are not too keen to part ways with the winger.

This might be a bit of depressing news but Thomas also suggests that the Hammers manager will only consider any approach which is over £35 million.

Liverpool are more than capable of offering the suggested amount but since West Ham United have just gotten into Europe, David Moyes will not be too happy in letting one of his most influential players leave.

These are obviously the initial reports and we will have to see if Liverpool are really serious about signing Jarrod Bowen or are they just combing through their options.

West Ham United paid £19 million in 2020 to sign the 24-year-old on a five-year deal and according to TransferMarkt, he is currently valued at £27 million.
