Jesse Lingard Man United news
Jesse Lingard Man United

In a recent interview, West Ham United’s assistant manager had hinted that his club are still trying to sign Jesse Lingard this month and according to Trevor Sinclair, the Hammers are going to eventually get their hands on him.

The England international has failed to revive his career at Manchester United this season and there have been major reports claiming that he wishes to move out on loan for the second half of the season.

Jesse Lingard is out of contract at Man United during the summer which is why he is not looking to secure a permanent move out of Old Trafford this month itself. Sinclair believes the 29-year-old is looking to run his contract down so he can become a free agent and then possibly join West Ham United.

“I don’t think he’ll go to West Ham this window,” Sinclair recently told talkSPORT.

“I think he would go (if he had the choice). West Ham would take him. But I don’t think Man United would pass him over to a rival for the top four.

“I actually think he’s gonna run his contract down. Whether he goes out on loan for three or four months and then goes to West Ham…”

Will Jesse Lingard land up at West Ham United?

Jesse Lingard is very close to joining Newcastle United on a loan deal but as per the latest updates, the talks have collapsed in the conclusive stages.

As per the Telegraph’s James Ducker, Man United want a bonus clause in Lingard’s loan deal should he help the Magpies avoid relegation.

If the loan deal does not go through then Jesse Lingard might be forced to remain at United for some more months since Rangnick will not be too inclined to send him out to West Ham United, a club who are actively competing with them for a Champions League spot.

The Hammers are also in no hurry to bag Jesse Lingard and they are more than comfortable waiting until the end of the season since David Moyes knows fully well that Lingard is very much inclined at becoming a permanent member of the West Ham United squad.
