West Ham United have still not given up the hope of signing Jesse Lingard and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Hammers are going to make one final push.

Speaking on The United Stand, Romano said: “I would keep an eye on Manchester United’s midfield situation. If Manchester United sell him (Lingard) then they will have an opportunity to do something in the market”

“West Ham will try again for Lingard. My understanding is that they will try in the final days for Jesse Lingard.

“Many clubs wait until the end of the window as they expect prices for players to change and I’m expecting them to go back for him.

“They are still waiting to decide on this position but they are still keen on Jesse Lingard as it’s always been either West Ham or Manchester United for him.”

Will Man United let Jesse Lingard join West Ham?

West Ham United have been trying really hard to sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal this summer but just a few weeks ago, it looked like they had pulled the plug on this deal.

As per the rumours, Manchester United were ready to offer the midfielder a new deal at the club and even the player was willing to fight for his place in the side.

But if Romano is right, which he usually is, then the Hammers could still get their hands on the England international before deadline day.

The way Man United have started the new season, it will be really hard for Lingard to break into the side so the best thing for all parties will be to agree on a permanent transfer.

He is very much wanted at West Ham by David Moyes and if he joins the Hammers, not only will be to play regularly but he will also be able to showcase his talent in Europe.

Throughout the summer, Man United’s asking price has been the major stumbling block for the London side but with the transfer window coming to a close, West Ham United are likely banking on the fact that United will soften their tone and offer a hefty discount.
