Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard who is currently out on loan to West Ham United.

Eurosport claims: “Manchester United might yet want him back to take Juan Mata’s spot in the squad, while West Ham could also try to sign him permanently.

Now sources are indicating that there is some interest from Leicester City, who will continue to monitor his situation for the rest of the season ahead of a potential bid.”

Lingard was way down the pecking order at Man United during the first half of the season which is why he was sent out to London and after the loan move went through, Ole made it clear that he wants the England international to return.

“We want Jesse to come back here revitalised,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Lingard’s move to West Ham United.

“We’ve had little to no injuries and he’s not forced his way into the team, unfortunately. I just want him to go there and enjoy himself, show how good a player he is and come back. He is a Manchester United player through and through.”

Jesse Lingard has made a bright start to his time at West Ham United and so far, he’s netted three goals and provided one assist for the Hammers. And it seems like this new-found form has attracted the interest of Brendan Rodgers.

We don’t see the 28-year-old coming back to Manchester United to revive his career and with just one more year left on his current deal, Ole is not likely to offer him a new deal either.

So as things stand, Man United will look to part ways with Jesse Lingard during the summer. And if he can prove his worth at West Ham United, David Moyes will be the first person to make a move for him permanently.

Leicester City are a great side but the Hammers are at the front of the queue and if they can secure Champions League football next season then Lingard should not hesitate to remain in London.

Also, the 28-year-old will want to join a club where he can play regularly and right now, the changes of that happening are far greater at West Ham United since he’s gotten starts in all four of his appearances.
