Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly agreed to let Jesse Lingard move out on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
ESPN are claiming: “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sanctioned Jesse Lingard’s loan move from Manchester United during the January transfer window and the final decision now rests with the club’s board, sources have told ESPN.
“England manager Gareth Southgate and assistant Steve Holland have given glowing references to a number of managers after Lingard played a key role in the run to the World Cup semifinals in 2018.
“A final decision about Lingard’s immediate future is set to be made in the coming days. Lingard has found opportunities hard to come by this season, featuring three times and starting twice.”
Where will Jesse Lingard head to this month?
Jesse Lingard has played in only three matches for Man United so far this season but recent reports had suggested that Ole was reluctant in letting the England international leave on loan this month.
Now, it looks like the Man United boss has changed his stance which is great news for all the teams interested in signing him up.
Clubs like Newcastle United and West Ham United are keen to sign him on a loan deal but we have a feeling that Jesse Lingard might snub all these clubs and reunite with Jose Mourinho at Spurs.
Spurs are the strongest side who have shown an inclination towards signing Lingard this season and if Mourinho can guarantee him playing time, we don’t see why the 28-year-old won’t start packing his bags for London.
Jesse Lingard is with Man United until the summer of 2022 so we believe the loan deal will also have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
