Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Lazio forward Joaquin Correa since the start of the summer transfer window.

And as per the latest updates, the two North London sides are now pushing to sign the 26-year-old before the 2021-22 season kicks off.

TEAMtalk cites reports: “Arsenal and Tottenham have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing Lazio attacker Joaquin Correa this summer.

“Corriere Dello Sport claims that the north London duo are ready to bid for the Argentina star after both Everton and PSG cooled their interest in signing him.”

Is Joaquin Correa likely to join a Premier League side?

Joaquin Correa joined Lazio from Sevilla in 2018 for a fee of around £14 million and so far he’s scored 30 goals in 117 appearances for Lazio in all competitions.

According to reports in Italy, Spurs are looking to bring in the forward as an upgrade to players like Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn but he can also be an apt replacement should the club decide to sell Harry Kane.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham but Joaquin Correa can also be a nice buy for the North London side.

But before Mikel Arteta can make any concrete moves for the Argentine international, they will first have to sell Alexandre Lacazette as well as Eddie Nketiah.

Spurs also have a similar problem so unless they are planning to offload any major first-team players this summer, we don’t think they will be able to convince Joaquin Correa to join them.

The 26-year-old is currently valued at £27 million and his current deal with Lazio runs until 2024. So, both Arsenal and Spurs will have to be ready to pay a sizeable fee for him.

PSG were once interested in Joaquin Correa but they have now cooled off their interest meaning the two Premier League sides are not likely to face any major competition if they are really serious about signing the forward.
