Joe Gelhardt will be hot property during the next two transfer windows and now Liverpool are also interested in signing him – as per reports.

The 17-year-old has come up through the ranks at Wigan Athletic and this season he has caught the attention of a number of big English clubs.

So far, Joe Gelhardt has featured in six Championship games for Wigan having net one goal but his performances in the final third are prove that the youngster is destined for greater things.

Man United and Chelsea had both been linked with the forward for a couple of weeks now and both these teams are expected to make a move during the January transfer window.

Solskjaer sold off Romelu Lukaku during the summer and is now eager to bring in a new striker at the start of the new year while Lampard too will be facing the same problem since Giroud is expected to leave.

The Frenchman has seen very little game time for the Blues so far and right now multiple rumours claim the player will be on his way to Inter Milan during the January window.

So trying to sign Joe Gelhardt during the middle of the season makes perfect sense for both United as well as Chelsea.

But having said this, if Liverpool are really interested in the youngster then Chelsea and Man United could be in serious trouble since every upcoming talent would want to play for Jurgen Klopp right now.

Liverpool have turned themselves into a powerhouse this season under their German boss and if they were to make a move for Joe Gelhardt then we are pretty confident the forward would snub any other interested clubs in order to move to Anfield.

So as things stand, Liverpool are favourites should they decide to make a move in January but what remains to be seen is if Wigan want to part ways with Joe Gelhardt during the middle of the season since the youngster is out of contract only in 2021.
