After beating Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, Leicester City take on the Blues once again, this time in the Premier League but Jonny Evans will not be a part of this match.

Evans was recovering from an injury over the past few weeks and the Leicester City medical staff somehow managed to get him ready for the final last weekend. But Jonny Evans eventually lasted for only 34 minutes, following which he had to be taken off the pitch, to be replaced by Albrighton.

And ahead of the midweek visit to Stamford Bridge, Brendan Rodgers has completely ruled out Jonny Evans for this key Premier League clash.

“Jonny won’t play in the game, he’ll struggle for that,” the Leicester City manager said. “We’ll see what he’s like for next weekend, but he won’t be involved tomorrow.

“We enjoyed the moment on Saturday, rightly so, as it’s an incredible achievement. I’m sure fans are waking up with sore heads and hoarse voices, but we’ve got a job to do. There’s work to be done. Physically and mentally, we’ll be ready to give our very, very best and let’s see where it takes us.

Winger Cengiz Under is also a doubt for this Premier League clash but the Leicester City manager has not yet given up hope on the 23-year-old.

The manager added: “There’s nothing to report at the moment, it’s only the second day after the game. But we’ll see how they are. The only other one is Ünder, who’s struggling a little with his hip.

“We’ll see if he can be available.”

Under has hardly played any first-team football this season, especially in the big matches so Brendan Rodgers will not be too worried about his fitness. But the absence of Jonny Evans could seriously be a big blow for Rodgers.

With Evans ruled out, Castagne will once again join Fofana and Soyuncu in the three-man backline with Marc Albrighton playing as the right wing-back.
