Liverpool face Arsenal in the Premier League next weekend and Sadio Mane along with Jordan Henderson are running the risk of missing out.

Sadio Mane was the first Liverpool player who had picked up an injury while on international duty and now England’s Jordan Henderson has also joined that list.

The midfielder’s injury was confirmed by the England FA and he’s since returned to the Merseyside for further assessment of the injury.

We are yet to know the extent of the injury but it’s highly unlikely that he will be included in the starting lineup on Saturday.

Arsenal have been in great form over the previous few months so the last thing Jurgen Klopp will want is to put a less than 100% player on the pitch.

Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane’s injuries will be a major cause of concern for the Liverpool boss since he has several other absentees as well.

Who will replace Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane on Saturday?

Roberto Firmino is already on the sidelines with a hamstring issue so if Mane is not fit in time then someone like Divock Origi will have to play on the left-hand side of attack.

The midfield scenario is messier for Liverpool since Naby Keita, Cutis Jones and James Milner are all on the sidelines right now.

So if Jordan Henderson cannot be fit in time then Klopp will not be able to name his best XI on Saturday.

If the England international is ruled out then Thiago and Fabinho will have to pair up in central midfield and this plan might not work too well against the Gunners.

Liverpool’s pace in midfield drops every time Thiago starts and with players like Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka set to play, the Spaniard could very well turn out to be the weak link on Saturday.

Before the break, the Liverpool boss had suggested that Curtis Jones should be back this coming weekend and if he’s fully fit then the youngster could very well get the nod ahead of Thiago.

It was reported that Sadio Mane was taken off as a precaution and his injury is not serious. Now, Jurgen Klopp will just be hoping that the same stays true for Jordan Henderson as well.

Liverpool went into the break at the back of a 3-2 loss to West Ham United and the last thing the Anfield outfit will want is to lose to Arsenal, primarily because of a depleted squad.
