Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal on Sunday in the English Premier League and it looks like Jose Mourinho has already started his age-old whining tactics before crucial the North London Derby.

Spurs drew their previous league game against Bournemouth meaning they are now ninth on the league table, one point behind Arsenal. And going into this high-intensity game, it’s the Gunners who have the upper hand since Arteta’s men have not tasted defeat in their last four league matches.

Jose Mourinho knows fully well that if his side were to suffer a loss on Sunday then their Europa League hopes will suffer a massive setback which is why the Lilywhites manager has already started veering questions about his team’s form.

“We were not sharp enough. One thing is a lack of attitude and another thing is lack of sharpness,” Mourinho said at his post-match press conference.

“It was not a lack of attitude at all. I felt that some of the boys were really tired. I made a couple of changes, especially in midfield because I felt some of the boys there were really in trouble by playing two days before.

“In attacking areas we lack a little bit of sharpness. It’s quite frustrating but that’s the way it is.

“Arsenal rested for 48 hours. It’s not even 24. It’s 48. One team plays on Tuesday, another team plays on Thursday. Magnificent. Magnificent way to promote such an important London derby in the Premier League.”

Spurs are in really poor form going into the NLD but what Jose Mourinho is forgetting that he has players like Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son who can easily tear apart Arsenal’s defence with their blistering pace.

Also, despite the absence of Eric Dier, Tottenham have more or less a pretty solid defence but it’s just that the players cannot seem to find their rhythm and cohesiveness on the pitch, much like recent teams which have been managed by the Portuguese.
