Manchester United have secured a berth in the knockout stages of the Champions League after beating Young Boys at home 1-0.

The win means the Red Devils will now go into the final group game with a chance to finish first in the group which will be a huge boost for Jose Mourinho and his ambitions of winning the trophy.

But on Tuesday, the Old Trafford outfit had to sweat it out for the three points as Marouane Fellaini helped them win the game in injury time.

This though could have very easily been avoided if Marcus Rashford hadn’t missed the chance to put his team infront within just five minutes of the match. Rashford found himself one on one with the keeper but somehow managed to scoop the ball over the top of the bar.

And this is when Jose Mourinho came up with a very weird reaction.

The Man United boss immediately turned towards the crowd, folded his arms and nodded his head in disappointment.

This reaction has gone viral on social media and fans and pundits alike have come out to slam the Portuguese for his disgraceful behaviour.

Jose Mourinho though has given an explanation for his behaviour but he refused to single out Marcus Rashford for the blame.

“We don’t score enough, but it’s not about Marcus, it’s about the team,” Mourinho told reporters.

“It’s difficult for us to score goals, but Marcus Rashford makes the runs, works hard when we do and don’t have the ball and I can never blame a player because of missing chances.

“Can I have a reaction on the touchline, where not a lot of the ones that comment on football are? Can myself or another manager show a reaction of frustration?

“I would invite those people to sit on the bench as managers, but I think it’s maybe better to have lots of holidays in Barbados and sit in a TV studio and touch the electronic dummies, I think it’s much more comfortable than to be on the touchline.

“I’m pretty sure a proper football manager would never criticise an emotional reaction on the touchline because it’s déjà vu for them. For those who have a nice life, it’s different.”

And to be very honest it would be really harsh to make Jose Mourinho the target once again simply because when your team is not scoring goals you need each and every chance to get converted into a goal.

And on top of that Marcus Rashford did manage to miss a sitter, something which is not acceptable when you are playing as a striker for Manchester United.

This though was not the only error that Rashford made during the game as the England international chose to make a series of wrong decisions during the game.
