Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all interested in signing Jude Bellingham but as per The Athletic, the Anfield outfit could eventually fall out of this transfer race.

After crashing out of the Champions League, Liverpool are no longer in contention for trophies this season and one of the main reasons for their poor show has been their inconsistent and average midfield.

Players like Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have been really subpar this season so signing a world-class central midfielder is the need of the hour for the Reds. There has been a belief in the market that Liverpool are the frontrunners in signing Jude Bellingham but according to the latest update, this might not be the case.

Borussia Dortmund are expected to quote around €140-150 million for the English midfielder which is why Klopp’s side could be priced out.

Athletic’s David Ornstein is of the view that Manchester City and Real Madrid are the more likely destinations for the young midfielder.

Liverpool have made some big-money signings in recent years but the club is very particular about spending money in the market. Yes, they have spent big on players like Van Dijk and Alisson but €140-150 million is a totally different ball game.

On the other hand, Manchester City and Madrid are big spenders and will very easily shell out the price tag set by BVB.

Some rumours are claiming that Jude Bellingham might be tempted to join Liverpool but if the Reds miss out on Champions League football then there’s a big question mark over this decision.

A player like him will not want to spend time in the Europa League while at Madrid and Man City, he will have a genuine chance of becoming the champions of Europe.

Jurgen Klopp has made Bellingham his priority target for the summer but the manager will have to work really hard to convince Liverpool’s owners to break the bank for the 19-year-old.
